Les Fuées lies at the northern end of Chambolle-Musigny, running up against the grand cru Bonnes-Mares: chalky soil sitting thin over hard bedrock, an easterly exposure, and a place among the commune's 24 premiers crus. Louis Jadot ferments the parcel in vats for up to four weeks and raises it 18 to 20 months in oak barrels, a long élevage for a premier cru the house counts among its most elegant, fine tannins carrying red fruit and spice with characteristic Chambolle delicacy, and 15 to 20 years of development ahead of it. The 2018 offers one of the village's most pedigreed addresses at a fraction of what its grand cru neighbor commands. Lace first; Bonnes-Mares is never far away.
