Fontvive is a range made and bottled at Domaine de Boissan, the Bonfils family's estate in Sablet, at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail. The Bonfils come from several generations of vignerons, and the domaine's first chai went up in the nineteenth century. They work fifty hectares with vines in Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Sablet, Séguret, Villedieu, and the Ventoux, sites spread widely enough that the grapes ripen in stages. The 2023 Côtes du Rhône is generous and full of red fruit. Light the grill, set out the charcuterie, and keep a second bottle within reach.
