Founded by the actor who played Davy Crockett on television, Fess Parker Winery has become one of Santa Barbara County's most consistent producers over three decades and three generations. Head winemaker Blair Fox, a UC Davis grad who cut his teeth in the Rhône Valley and McLaren Vale before landing in Santa Ynez, brings a terroir-first sensibility to everything he touches. This Pinot Noir is sourced from three vineyards across the Sta. Rita Hills, where cool Pacific winds and diatomaceous soils push the grape toward a brighter, more structured expression than most of California can manage. Nine months in French oak with a moderate touch of new wood keeps the fruit forward without burying it. Cranberry, wild strawberry, and black cherry lead, with forest floor, baking spice, and a thread of black tea adding depth. Balanced and approachable now, with enough structure to reward a year or two of patience.
