Not long after purchasing vineyards in the late 1960s and releasing his first wines in the early 1970s, Jacques Seysses became an international icon. Jacques' respect for the terroir of the Côte d’Or is still on display in his viticultural practices and innovative winemaking methods. Dujac wines are more than just varietally correct – they are intimate travelogues of some of the most celebrated sites on earth. Sons Jeremy and Alec along with Jeremy’s wife, Diana, have since been handed the reigns of this famous estate.
The Morey-Saint-Denis white wine comes from 2 parcels located within the climat Porroux, to the east of the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, on the bottom of the slope where the incline is the least steep. The vines face northeast. The Morey whites are situated just above the winery’s parcel of Morey-Saint-Denis red. This particular spot was chosen for planting Chardonnay because the RD 974 blocks the cold air coming down the hillside, which brings a natural freshness to the wine.
The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks, using naturally occurring yeast.It is then aged in a range of 1-3 year old French barrique for 18 months and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
