Summer in New York has long come out of a street vendor's cooler at Rockaway Beach or Coney Island: the nutcracker, liquor and fruit juice, bold, colorful, and an uptown original. Harlem's Marquis Williams, founder of the wine club Highly Recommended, gave it a proper home with Beloved, which the label bills as the first canned nutcracker. Stone Fruit is the line's tequila can, the successor to Peach Paradise, and it plays to the same strengths: ripe peach and a flash of tropical fruit over agave, light on its feet, refreshing, and respectfully not too sweet. Pour it over ice, squeeze in whatever citrus is on hand, and it's August again, whatever the calendar says.
