Trinidad-born founder Marc Farrell named Ten To One after Eric Williams's rallying line on Caribbean federation, "one from ten leaves nought," and the blend argues the same idea: unaged Dominican column-still rum married to high-ester Jamaican pot-still rum, bottled at 45 percent with no added sugar, coloring, or flavoring. The nose is unusually expressive for the category, white pepper and sea salt over jasmine, honeysuckle, ripe citrus, and lemongrass. The palate stays crisp and clean, bright citrus zest layered with herbaceous complexity, and the finish lands dry, elegant, and precise. It will make a daiquiri you can name in one sip, and it is composed enough to pour on its own.
