Quinta das Maias Branco Dao Portugal 2023

Quinta das Maias, situated in the foothills of the Serra da Estrela in Portugal’s Dão region, has been organically farmed since 1997 under the stewardship of the Lourenço family. The estate's vineyards, planted on granite sand soils, benefit from the region's high elevation and continental climate, contributing to the wine's freshness and minerality. The Branco is a blend of indigenous Portuguese white varieties, including Malvasia Fina, Encruzado, and Bical. Fermented in stainless steel to preserve the purity of fruit, the wine offers aromas of citrus, white flowers, and stone fruit. On the palate, it is crisp and textured, with notes of lemon zest, green apple, and a nice minerality–a hallmark of Dão wines, especially their whites.
