Domaine Bachelet Cote de Nuits-Villages 2022

Sourced from a one-hectare parcel of Pinot Noir planted in 1952, this wine reflects Denis Bachelet’s careful attention to farming and restraint in the cellar. The vines grow on limestone-clay soils in Brochon, just north of Gevrey-Chambertin, and the 2022 vintage was fully de-stemmed and aged 16–18 months in barrel, with about 25% new oak. Bright and focused, it opens with aromas of red berry, crushed violet, and smoke. The palate is finely textured and energetic, with polish and clarity that belie the appellation.
