Beloved Guava Basil Nutcracker Can

The nutcracker is New York's unofficial summer cocktail, the potent fruit-juice drinks sold from coolers at Coney Island and Rockaway Beach, and Beloved is Harlem entrepreneur Marquis Williams's licensed, canned tribute to the tradition. Williams, also the founder of the wine club Highly Recommended, builds this one on Persian lime vodka with guava and fresh basil: bright tropical fruit with the herb keeping the sweetness honest, nothing cloying, and no carbonation, true to the street original. At 24 proof in a 200ml can, it goes down easy, which is the entire point of a nutcracker.
