Aphros Phaunus Amphora Loureiro Portugal 2022

This biodynamic skin contact wine from the Northwest region of Portugal (from the Vinho Verde region) is a fun, zippy wine with a lower ABV (10.5%) made with a dedicated commitment to doing things the old school way.  The vines are farmed using cover crops, animals, bees, homeopathic treatments, the wine is made using the ancient method of beeswax-lined clay amphorae – even the winery is operated without using main grid electricity!  This unfiltered wine is light bodied with bright freshness and minerality with notes of stone fruit, lime, mandarin, and a kiss of sea salt from the cooling coastal influence that lifts it all up.
