Wodka Polish Vodka 1L

One of the last estate-grown Polish rye vodkas on the market, Wódka is distilled near Kalisz, one of the oldest cities in Poland, from a single estate's Dankowskie gold winter rye, a variety long prized by Polish distillers. The spirit runs five times through a column still, is filtered twice through charcoal made from Polish birch, then is proofed and bottled stateside at 40 percent. This is a vodka that actually tastes of its grain: rye bread and a delicate vanilla sweetness on the nose with a touch of cracked black pepper, a full-bodied but nimble palate of baked rye, almond, and white pepper, and a long, clean finish. Serious character at an entry-level price.
