Fontvive is a label of Domaine de Boissan, the Bonfils family estate in Sablet where fifth-generation vigneron Christian Bonfils farms some fifty hectares at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, the whites certified organic and the reds in conversion. The Côtes du Rhône rouge draws on Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre in the house's traditional, fruit-first style: a lightly spicy nose with a hint of violets, ample red fruit, and a clean, fresh finish. An honest southern Rhône red for the weeknight table.
