Named after the ancient Missoula Flood which shaped the Willamette Valley in Oregon, native Oregonian winemaker Joe Swick’s The Flood is a showcase of Pacific Northwest natural winemaking at its finest. Made up of a blend of grapes grown organically from Oregon and Washington – including Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Auxerrois, Riesling – this wine undergoes 30 days of skin contact fermentation followed by 6 months ageing in neutral French oak barrels to deliver a not-too-funky unfiltered wine with notes of stone fruits, tangerine, orange peel, straw, touch of salinity. Light enough to be enjoyed on its own with soft tannins, and enough fun character to leave you wanting to keep sipping away.
