Pascal Cotat La Grande Cote Chavignol Sancerre 2024

La Grande Côte sits on Kimmeridgian marl, a soil profile that has more in common with Chablis than with most of Sancerre. Pascal's parcel here produces the deepest, most structured wine in his lineup. Late hand-harvest, native-yeast fermentation in old wood, no fining, no filtration. Expect laser-cut minerality, vibrant salinity, and white pith in youth, evolving toward honey and stone with age. Will drink well in five years, hit its stride in ten to fifteen, and continue to surprise well beyond.
