Les Baudes sits directly beneath the grand cru Bonnes-Mares at Chambolle-Musigny's northern edge, where the village leans toward Morey-Saint-Denis. The site ripens early and gives pronounced Chambolle perfume: lifted red fruit, a silk-textured palate, and genuine structure underneath. This bottling comes from the Gagey family's own vines, produced and sold under the Louis Jadot banner, fermented in vats for up to four weeks and aged 18 to 20 months in oak, with 15 to 20 years of development in prospect. The sunny 2019 vintage plays to the vineyard's strengths, ripeness with its freshness intact. Bonnes-Mares is the neighbor; the price is not.
