Camino Roca Altxerri Getariako Txakolina 2024

Roca Altxerri is named for the Altxerri Cave, located in Basque country, which is home to the oldest stone paintings in Europe, dating back almost 40,000 years. This refreshing white wine comes from 25-40 year old vines planted on the seaside slopes of Getaria in the Basque region on the southern edge of the Bay of Biscay. Traditional vinification – harvested grapes are brought in and immediately chilled down to almost freezing temperatures. Vinification with native yeasts in stainless steel under a blanket of carbon dioxide gives the wine its signature spritz.
