Christoph Heiss Malinga Gruner Veltliner Austria Sekt

Malinga is Christoph Heiss's natural wine label, drawn from chosen parcels of his family's 12 hectares in Engabrunn, at the eastern edge of the Kamptal. After winemaking stints in New Zealand, Germany, and South Africa, Heiss came home to take over the family cellar, and Malinga is his freer register: organically farmed fruit, hand harvesting, spontaneous fermentation, and bottling unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur. Here that approach meets Sekt, Austrian sparkling wine, built on Grüner Veltliner from loess soils and finished under crown cap. Earthy and savory, the grower's track record does the talking.
