La Caravelle Listrac Medoc Bordeaux 2020 Magnum

La Caravelle is a selection of the best grapes, which come from old vine plants and matured in oak barrels (30% new). Only a few thousand bottles of this “cuvée prestige” are produced each year. Unusual for the left bank of Bordeaux (where Cab Sauv tends to dominate), the blend features 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot. Aromatic plum and berry notes accented with herbal, dark cherry and graphite flavors on the palate. This bottle’s age, coupled with the temperate use of new oak and Merlot leading the blend means La Caravelle is a joyful option to open tonight or anytime in the next 10 years.
