Sourced from a single vineyard of 28–60-year-old vines in Ribeira Sacra, this wine is rooted in light, decomposed granite soils laced with feldspar—soils that echo the northern Rhône, according to Envínate’s Alfonso Torrente. It’s 85% Mencía with the balance made up of native varieties like Brancellao, Merenzao, Garnacha Tintorera, and Grao Negro. Fermented whole-cluster in open-top tanks with a slow 35-day maceration, then aged in a mix of used French barrels and a 2,000L foudre, ‘Parcela Rosende’ is vivid and mineral. Crushed cherry, dried herbs, and peppery spice meet a savory, almost smoky edge—elegant, nervy, and unmistakably Atlantic.
