Le Russeghine, first bottled from a single vineyard above the village in 1972, was the first wine of its kind in Liguria. The vines grow on terraced, calcareous clay soil in the Arroscia Valley, close enough to the Mediterranean to catch the sea air but shielded by the foothills of the Ligurian Alps, and the estate, now run by Riccardo's daughter Francesca and her husband Roberto, has farmed organically since 2009. Fermentation runs in steel at controlled temperature, with a brief aging of under six months split between steel tanks and wood. The wine opens with ripe citrus and wildflowers, a touch of almond and aromatic herb, and carries a saline, fresh-acid backbone through a medium body to a finish that closes, true to the grape, on a light bitter almond note. A benchmark bottling of a variety that rarely gets this kind of attention.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Bowler","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":52174202241322,"sku":null,"price":44.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/purewinenyc.com\/products\/bruna-le-russeghine-pigato-riviera-ligure-di-ponente-2024","provider":"Pure Wine","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
